Three control books that cover MPC include:
1. Process Dynamics Modeling, and Control by Ogunnaike and Ray,
2. Practical Distillation Control edited by Luyben, Chapter 12 by Hokanson and Gerstle,
3. Chemical Process Control by Riggs.
Also look for MPC application papers presented at AIChE, ACC, IFAC conferences beginning in the late 1980' early 1990's.
